From a Basement Grow Tent to a Mycology Lab
In 2018, our founder Marcus Webb spent more time dealing with contaminated cultures than actually growing mushrooms. After his third failed batch from an unreliable vendor, he decided to take matters into his own hands — building a DIY flow hood, teaching himself agar work, and producing cultures cleaner than anything he could buy.
Word spread through local mycology meetups. Friends asked for syringes. Then friends of friends. By 2020, what started as a hobby had become a calling. We opened our dedicated lab facility in Portland, Oregon, with a simple mission: make professional-grade genetics accessible to every grower.
